Associate Attorney
The candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of complex legal services for city/county agencies, schools, and their officials, as well as general litigation and criminal defense. Handles complex litigation and research assignments. Provides support to senior attorneys. Prepares complaints, answers, discovery, motions, briefs, and other legal documents in City, State and Federal courts. Advises clients and attends meetings and hearings. Conducts mediation and arbitration. Handles union matters. Represents local governmental agencies. Renders advice to governmental agencies, officials, and employees with regard to litigation and settlement of lawsuits. Offers advisory legal opinions particularly with regard to litigation or potential litigation. Performs related duties as requested. Doctor of Jurisprudence from an accredited college of university required. Valid legal license to practice law in Indiana required. Knowledge of legislative process helpful. Knowledge of Municipal and School Code of Indiana helpful. Knowledge of and experience in administrative law, litigation, and criminal defense helpful.
