North American Renewables Lead

Profile

The Computer Software division of a Safety Science firm is looking for a North America business leader for their renewable desktop software business. The Senior Business Manager leads the renewable (Wind, Solar, Storage) energy business in the Americas, under the overall direction of the Global Director of Renewables, and in coordination with Renewables sales, digital, marketing leads, Strategy, Operations and Corporate functions. The role will manage a $20M Profit and Loss and 50-100 people who are all remote. This role will also be remote and based in the US
. The job needs someone with strong operations experience who knows the renewable industry and has product development and product financing understanding. The growth projection of this role is to become the Director of this division in the next 18-24 months.
Responsibilities
: Develop, execute, and implement Commercial and Operational strategy to drive organic/inorganic growth and profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction through a deep understanding of the customer and market intelligence in the Renewables sector.
Responsible for Profit and loss activities and budget development.
Accountable for ensuring financial targets (revenue, profit, enterprise value, etc.) are met. Responsible for managing costs, reporting and forecasting, workflow overviews and providing input into growth targets for Renewables customers and segments.
Closely monitor and manage revenue activities, including unbilled, aging and inactive projects, work on hand analysis to ensure balance of demand and throughput.
Implement and execute capacity and capability strategies and successfully translate customer needs into an operational plan to fulfill projects with the right resources (availability, skillset).
Anticipate customer needs by creating strong partnerships with Sales and Business Development.
Ensure there is sufficient pipeline of opportunities, orders to meet overall P&L budget.
Drive Price, Promotion, Service offering for Renewables.
Build customer intimacy and establish strong relationships through customer visits, analyzing business data and market trends.
Participate in client seminars, conferences, and trade shows.
Drives a high performing team by managing the performance and development of team members.
Requirements
: 10 years directly related experience in Renewables, including at least five years of relevant management/leadership experience preferred in both Sales and fulfillment functions or ideally in general management.
Solid experience as lead or participant in cross-functional or global projects or worked in multiple functions or regions.
Experience in managing large Capex (Capital expenditures) projects with multiple stakeholders preferred.
Business acumen skills and experience in Leading diverse business an advanced understanding of how decisions impact business results, management concepts such as effectively building a diverse team and planning and thinking strategically.
Ability to manage employee performance through development of performance expectations and goals.
