Primary Function
The Communications Operations organization is responsible for the strategy, capabilities and execution of:
• All internal and external events globally
• Internal communication channels – including the intranet, email distributions, internal videos, and live internal broadcasts / streaming.
• Media monitoring, analysis, and reporting – including both traditional and social media.
The Email Distribution team is part of the Communication Operations organization. This team has responsibilities for daily production management of the enterprise and line of business email communications. On the strategic side, the team has responsibilities for the planning and governance of the email distribution capabilities and how these email capabilities integrate with the overall strategy of the company’s broader internal channels (intranet, on demand video, live streaming and mobile).
This role on the Enterprise Email Distribution team involves working with teammates across the Global Corporate Communication organization and business partners across the company to plan, govern and execute internal email communications.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with Communications teams; establish a position as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in the use of internal email communications to accomplish desired outcomes.
Manage the delivery of internal communications through structured business processes and the daily use of key email distribution systems such as Message Studio, Communications Central and Open Text.
Identify opportunities for improvements and operational excellence.
Provide input into the governance and strategic roadmap of the channel.
Becoming a subject matter expert in internal communication strategies and channels.
Adhering to established end-to-end processes of the email distribution team while also providing input and working on efforts to continuously improve and innovate these processes.
Learning and using basic HTML to design and layout emails using tools such as Dreamweaver.
Working both independently and in close partnership with teammates to meet key production deadlines.
Skills & Qualifications
Ability to work well with business partners and teammates at all levels (including senior teammates and business partners)
Comfort with technology and process
Ability to quickly learn and become proficient with specialized tools such as Message Studio, Communications Central, Dreamweaver and Open Text
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
Attention to detail
Desire for continuous improvement and learning
Education & Experience
Experience with standard industry tools such as Microsoft office, SharePoint
