Summary
Responsible
for the design, implementation, management, and Level 3 support of desktop
applications to ensure an integrated desktop system for the firm.
Responsibilities
Provides full
design, planning, configuration, documentation, deployment and top-level
support for all technology applications
Ensure that adherence
to Firm standards is monitored and followed by all members of the Technology
Services department
In concert with
Technology Support group, develops best practices for troubleshooting problems
with desktop applications
Defines and documents
the process for the evaluation of new releases to any of the key desktop
applications
Make recommendations
for/or against the upgrade based on firm requirements and knowledge of
the software
Assists in efforts
to optimize application performance to the end-user
Assists in maintaining
an application testing environment
Maintains awareness
of technology developments and makes recommendations to Associate Director
of Infrastructure
Provides input
into negotiations of software licensing and support agreements
Participates in
cross-functional team projects to implement new or updated technology
Assist with resolution
of escalated incidents and participates in problem management activities
Cross-trains other
IT staff in the use or maintenance of technology
Communicate with
employees of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic
and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person
Required
7-10 years Desktop
Applications or Desktop Supports experience in law firms or corporate Sr.
Desktop Support setting
Mastery-level
knowledge of Microsoft Office Microsystem DocXTools, WorkShare Professional,
DocAuto, MacPac, Autonomy FileSite and Nuance PDF
Specialization
in multiple areas of technology including application deployment technologies
Bachelor’s degree
or equivalent work experience
