Senior Reference Librarian, Faculty Services
Duties: Welcome ideas and perspectives from colleagues and students representing a wide variety of cultures, backgrounds, religious beliefs, and experiences. Reporting to the Director of the Law Library, the Senior Reference Librarian provides general and in-depth reference and research services to law faculty and law students, University faculty and students, and other library users. Responsible for the development, coordination, management and implementation of the law library’s reference services and policies. Overseeing and managing the law library’s efforts to support faculty research and scholarship. Manage and oversee faculty support and reference services provided to all patrons of the law library. Coordinate and participate in the law library’s faculty liaison program and research instruction. Assist in the hiring, training and supervision of full and part-time reference support staff. Participate in team effort and quality of service towards the overall efficient operation of the law library and college of law. Prepare and provide research presentations in support of law school seminars and courses; and other other department activities, such as:. Authoring and editing print and electronic research guides (LibGuides). Content for the law library website. A display of faculty. Publications. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervises and coordinates the efforts of the law library’s professional librarians. May include areas related to supervision, interviewing and selection, discipline, performance appraisal, training, and career development of personnel. In consultation with the Director of the Law Library, responsible for establishing policy and practice affecting the law library’s efforts to provide reference and support for faculty research.
