Chief Architect ATG E-Commerce

Profile

Manage the the technical architecture of the digital platform in a Java EE and Oracle environment . Assume responsibility for all architectural decisions on e-commerce systems.
This hands-on position, reporting to the Director of Architecture ,will be responsible for the design and implementation of e-commerce system components in a scalable, high performance growing e-commerce platform.
The
Chief Architect will work together with the architects, engineering managers, business and product management teams.
No Relocation assistance at this time. Local Candidates to San Francisco Bay Area are preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technology leadership for design and development decisions related to next-generation, global web platform
• Assess, recommend, build and integrate with best-of-breed, off-the-shelf commercial and open-source software components
• Help meet business needs with new innovations. Review and recommend technologies from global software providers, open source technologies and specialized product providers, for inclusion into the platform
• Work with key members of the Management team to define and drive technical strategy and architectural direction for the e-commerce platform
• Drive the design methodology of the software development process and ensure adoption within technology partners
• Assess feasibility and ramifications of new business requirements. Design appropriate solutions and recommend alternative approaches when necessary
• Stay current on advancements in web technologies in order to determine relevance and possible impact to existing system
• Recommend engineering best practices, including use of design patterns, code reviews and automated unit testing
REQUIREMENTS
· B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical degree
· Five plus years systems development experience working on a pre-eminent e-commerce website that has significant traffic.
· Working experience with ATG commerce and related modules in a large scale environment
