Profile

A long-established San Francisco real estate litigation boutique representing landlords and property owners is adding an associate. The firm gets a steady flow of new matters every day and needs a litigator who can manage several at once and wants to stay for the long term.

What you’ll do

• Handle landlord-tenant litigation, along with land use, property rights and commercial leasing disputes, on the landlord and owner side only
• Manage multiple active matters from intake through discovery, law and motion, and trial prep
• Draft and argue pleadings, motions and writs in state and federal courts and administrative hearings
• Work directly with clients and opposing counsel, including settlement negotiations

What we’re looking for

• 2 to 6 years of hands-on civil litigation as an associate (law and motion, discovery, court appearances). Internships and bar-pending candidates don’t qualify.
• An active California bar in good standing. Where you went to law school matters very little.
• A stable work history. Frequent firm changes are a dealbreaker.
• Landlord-tenant or real estate litigation experience is strongly preferred.
• A strong litigation writing sample, which is required.

Compensation

• $140,000 to $200,000 base, depending on experience. More senior candidates are considered case by case.
• Discretionary year-end bonus, typically $10,000 to $50,000 depending on performance and the firm’s year
