Associate Counsel For Healthcare Part Time
Duties: Will be expected to handle and oversee a broad range of health care related assignments, including: Legal advice related to hospital operational support; medical malpractice litigation; general liability and hospital related litigation; subpoenas; medical staff issues; quality assurance, and peer review matters. Will also provide legal advice to Hospital Administration on a broad array of clinical health law issues including DNR, informed consent and end of life issues; and will render advice on regulatory issues including but not limited to Joint Commission, DOH, CMS and DEA, accreditation; on student, resident and clinical affiliation agreements, Graduate Medical Education issues and accreditation: health care contracts, including hospital physician compensation and recruitment arrangements, provider-based agreements, joint business ventures, transactional issues and Medicaid/Medicare/private insurance reimbursement; and will additionally provide legal advice regarding HIPAA and patient privacy issues, and release of protected health information. Will also advise on student, faculty, research and other institutional issues as they arise.
