Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced environmental law attorney for its Environmental Practice in Albany, NY. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with seasoned practitioners on diverse matters across the Northeast.

Duties

• Handle project permitting and siting, including NEPA and SEQRA.
• Conduct transactional due diligence and compliance reviews.
• Manage enforcement matters related to environmental statutes.
• Interface with resource agencies such as USEPA, USACE, USFWS, and NYSDEC.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice in New York State or eligible to waive into the New York State Bar.
• Four to eight years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in environmental statutes including Superfund/CERCLA, CWA, CAA, ESA, MBTA, and New York State Environmental Conservation Law.
• Experience in the energy industry and with wildlife and rare, threatened, and endangered species is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
