A law firm seeks a Senior Family Law Attorney in Houston, TX, to serve as a quality checkpoint and trusted leader. This role combines a personal caseload with mentoring responsibilities, requiring an attorney who takes pride in precision and helps elevate the team's standards through direct, constructive feedback.

Duties

• Handle a personal family law caseload, including hearings, mediations, and trials, comprising approximately 60% of time.
• Review, approve, and sign off on all pleadings, orders, and decrees before filing to ensure quality control.
• Mentor associates and paralegals through weekly case reviews and provide hands-on, constructive feedback.
• Partner with the managing attorney on strategy and complex matters, stepping in as the go-to attorney in their absence.
• Answer client questions with clarity and compassion while maintaining high standards for client communication.

Requirements

• Hold a Texas bar license in good standing.
• Have 8+ years of Texas family law practice with substantial trial experience.
• Demonstrate experience supervising or mentoring attorneys or paralegals.
• Exhibit a sharp eye for detail and a direct, constructive feedback style.
• Maintain a coachable, team-first mindset with a willingness to adapt to firm standards.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Board Certification in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (preferred).

Skills

• Experience with high-net-worth property division or Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) is desired.
• Proficiency with Clio case management software is preferred.
• Strong skills in drafting, strategy development, and client relations.
