A law firm seeks a New York-Barred Litigation Associate to support its practice in Cherry Hill, NJ, with a remote work arrangement. This role offers the opportunity to handle diverse civil litigation matters, including professional liability and labor law, under the mentorship of experienced partners. The position provides a collaborative environment where attorneys gain hands-on experience from day one, managing cases from initiation through discovery and settlement.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.



• Draft and review discovery requests, responses, motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, and settlement agreements.



• Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations to support case strategy and client advice.



• Negotiate with opposing counsel to resolve claims and communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and legal analysis.

Requirements

• Must be admitted to the New York State Bar.



• Demonstrated familiarity with New York law and civil procedure is required.



• Previous experience in civil litigation is necessary, with a preference for candidates experienced in professional liability or labor and employment matters.



• Proven ability to draft discovery documents, lead depositions, and argue motions is preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active New York State Bar membership in good standing.

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities.



• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).



• Proficiency in LexisNexis legal research software.



• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment while managing multiple priorities.
