Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Managing Attorney to lead its family law practice in Metro Atlanta, Georgia. The role involves supervising and developing the legal team, enhancing legal strategies, and ensuring high-quality client representation in complex family law matters.

Duties

• Supervise, mentor, and develop family-law attorneys and paralegals.
• Provide legal strategy and quality control across active matters.
• Review significant pleadings, motions, discovery, and litigation strategy.
• Identify case risks and escalate issues before they become emergencies.
• Lead complex divorce, custody, and related domestic-relations matters.
• Handle and supervise hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Assist with attorney caseload management and court coverage.
• Establish expectations for attorney responsiveness and client communication.
• Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to the legal team.
• Partner with the Managing Partner on strategic matters and practice growth.

Requirements

• Active Georgia Bar membership in good standing.
• 5+ years of meaningful Georgia family-law experience.
• Experience managing contested domestic-relations matters.
• Strong Georgia Superior Court litigation experience.
• Experience with hearings, trials, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
• Strong legal writing, analytical, and strategic judgment.
• Prior supervisory or management experience.
• Excellent deadline and client-management discipline.
• Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining quality control.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
