Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Defense Attorney for its Phoenix, Arizona office. The ideal candidate will manage litigation matters, providing sound counsel and working on challenging cases with talented colleagues nationwide. This hybrid position offers flexibility and the opportunity to litigate emerging legal issues.

Duties

• Support a litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Manage all aspects of written discovery.
• Represent clients at court hearings and dispute resolution proceedings.
• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and clients.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case assessments and updates.
• Work on complex matters involving general liability and insurance-related claims.
• Assist with trial preparation, including witness and exhibit development.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and litigation support staff.

Requirements

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in Arizona; California or Nevada is a plus.
• 2+ years of defense litigation experience.
• Experience with general liability, commercial litigation, or personal injury.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions.
• Superior analytical skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Sophisticated technical skills necessary.
• Court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus.

Education

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice in Arizona; California or Nevada is a plus.
