Job Overview

Duties

• Own and manage a caseload of pre-litigation and litigation files, ensuring clients are regularly updated on status, treatment, and next steps.



• Investigate liability, preserve evidence, and develop medical damages and wage loss to construct compelling demand packages.



• Negotiate with insurance adjusters and defense counsel, determining when to settle or file suit based on case value.



• Draft and argue pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and motions for summary judgment; take and defend depositions.



• Prepare clients and experts for mediation and trial, providing first-chair support or second-chair trial work as needed.



• Supervise paralegals and case managers to ensure efficient records management, calendaring, and settlement paperwork.



• Adhere to ethical rules, advertising limits, and firm policies regarding confidential client information.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Arizona; admission in Colorado, California, New Mexico, or Florida is a plus.



• Minimum of 2 years of personal injury experience, with plaintiff-side experience preferred.



• Strong candidates with defense-side experience, including real deposition and motion practice, will be considered.



• Comfort with Arizona disclosure and discovery rules, statute of limitations issues, and insurance coverage matters.



• Clear written and spoken English proficiency; Spanish language skills are a plus.



• A proven track record of actively moving files forward with a focus on client communication.



• Trial exposure, even as second chair, is preferred; willingness to try cases is required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active state bar license in good standing.
