Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate to join its Boston, MA office. This role involves managing high-stakes patent disputes and advising clients on complex intellectual property matters. The position offers immediate responsibility in active district court cases, with opportunities for meaningful courtroom exposure and client interaction.

Duties

• Manage intellectual property disputes from inception through trial.
• Advise clients on risk assessment, litigation and trial strategy, and IPR petition strategy and defense.
• Assist in discovery, including fact and expert discovery, ESI strategy, depositions, and discovery motion practice.
• Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions, including claim construction, summary judgment, and Daubert motions.
• Cultivate and expand client relationships, actively contributing to business development and practice growth initiatives.

Requirements

• JD and admission to the MA state bar or admission eligible; CA or NY preferred but not required.
• Minimum 5+ years of litigation experience, ideally from a large law firm or recognized litigation boutique.
• Demonstrated experience with hearings, trials, and case management.
• Strong track record of managing intellectual property disputes and managing client relationships.
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing, client-focused team.
• Portable book of business is not required, but preferred.
• Experience with IPR proceedings is preferred.
