A law firm seeks a Family Law Attorney to join their team in Riverside, CA. This full-time, on-site role involves managing a diverse caseload of divorce, child custody, support, and domestic violence restraining order matters. The ideal candidate will provide empathetic, solution-oriented counsel while handling cases from initial consultation through resolution, ensuring strong advocacy and ethical representation for clients navigating complex family disputes.

Duties

• Manage a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, support, and restraining orders, from initial consultation through final resolution.



• Meet with clients to gather facts, conduct legal research, and provide clear, empathetic counsel regarding their rights and options.



• Draft, review, and argue motions, pleadings, and requests for orders, including temporary and permanent restraining orders.



• Prepare cases for hearings and trials, including conducting depositions, managing discovery, and handling evidence in contested matters.



• Negotiate settlements and collaborate with staff and other attorneys to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.



• Represent clients in court proceedings and maintain detailed, organized case files in compliance with firm and court procedures.

Requirements

• Active California State Bar license in good standing.



• Strong foundational knowledge of law with demonstrated experience in family law and the ability to address diverse legal issues in family court.



• Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and arguing motions, including requests for orders and other family law pleadings.



• Experience preparing for and conducting depositions, as well as managing discovery and evidence in contested matters.



• Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills, with clear communication abilities for clients, opposing counsel, and the court.



• Strong negotiation, case management, and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple matters and deadlines effectively.



• High level of professionalism, integrity, and client-centered service, including sensitivity to clients experiencing emotional stress.



• Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment and proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active California State Bar license.
