A law firm seeks a Property Insurance Attorney in Chicago to join its growing litigation team. This role focuses on first-party property insurance disputes, requiring 4+ years of experience. Candidates with insurance defense or coverage backgrounds are preferred. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload independently, draft coverage opinions, and handle litigation from discovery through trial while maintaining strong client relationships.

Duties

• Manage a diverse caseload of first-party property insurance disputes independently.



• Draft coverage opinions and litigate insurance coverage and bad faith cases.



• Handle all phases of litigation, including drafting motions, managing discovery, and taking depositions.



• Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and hearings.



• Develop and maintain strong relationships with the firm's existing client base.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience in property insurance matters.



• Experience drafting coverage opinions and litigating coverage and bad faith cases.



• Proven ability to manage a caseload independently with strong case management skills.



• Experience handling discovery requests, depositions, and court proceedings.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Illinois.
