Job Overview

Duties

• Handle a full caseload of divorce, family law, and related matters under senior attorney supervision.



• Meet with clients to assess legal issues, provide practical advice, and protect their rights throughout the process.



• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and review court documents for accuracy and compliance.



• Negotiate settlements, prepare for hearings and trials, and appear in court to advocate for clients.



• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient case management and timely filing of deadlines.



• Maintain accurate case files and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Alabama or eligibility for admission.



• Strong foundation in law with specific knowledge or interest in family law practice.



• Experience or coursework in Labor and Employment Law, particularly as it intersects with family and financial matters.



• Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet strict court and filing deadlines.



• Comfort with on-site work, regular court appearances, and direct client interaction in sensitive matters.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Alabama law license or eligibility for admission.

Skills

• Proficiency in legal research, including case law, statutes, and rules of procedure.



• Effective negotiation skills for settlements, mediated agreements, and client advocacy.



• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including drafting motions and client correspondence.



• Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
