A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with experience in representing secured creditors in consumer Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure, though training is available for team-oriented candidates with less experience. A license to practice law in New York is required.

Duties

• Manage routine bankruptcy matters.
• Draft and review pleadings and claims.
• Attend scheduled hearings.
• Respond to firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries.
• Review client filings.
• Monitor electronic filings (ECFs).
• Resolve routine bankruptcy matters.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court.

Requirements

• Knowledge of bankruptcy rules and creditor rights laws.
• Computer literacy.
• Professionalism and attention to detail.
• Strong keyboard and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in New York.
• Admitted to District and/or Bankruptcy Courts in NY.
