Assistant Director of Admission

Duties: Under direction of the Assistant Dean of Admission and Financial Aid, work closely with the Associate Director of Admission and Outreach, and Admissions and Financial Aid staff to develop strategies and execute targeted recruitment and yield of students at California colleges and universities, with special focus on University of California and California State University campuses. Build and foster relationships with pre-law advisors, faculty and student organizations on those campuses with a goal to encourage applications and yield to the School of Law J.D. program. Working in conjunction with the Associate Director of Admission and Outreach, develop initiatives to diversify the School of Law's applicant pool from California colleges and universities. On an as needed basis, perform national recruitment. Review J.D. applications and exercise independent judgment in making recommendations for admission to the Assistant Dean and Admission Committee. Conduct information sessions, counsel prospective applicants and students on the admission process. In the absence of the Assistant Dean and Associate Director, the Admission Officer will serve as lead for the Office.
