This role supports public school districts, community college districts, and other public agencies with a wide range of education law matters. Duties

• Provide legal counsel to K-12 public school districts, community colleges, and county offices of education on governance, student issues, contracts, and compliance.
• Advise clients on student rights and discipline, Title IX, special education (IDEA/Section 504), and public records issues.
• Represent clients in administrative hearings and proceedings, including those before the Office for Civil Rights (OCR).

Requirements

• 1 to 4 years of experience supporting public agency clients with education law matters.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Passion for advocating for educational institutions and public agencies.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

• Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.

Skills

• Experience with cross-border matters or complex administrative proceedings is desired.
