The candidate should have both litigation and pre-litigation experience. This position requires a person who is detail oriented, able to independently handle pre-litigation to litigation personal injury claims through the settlement process and/or through litigation. Send letters of representation. Reviewing, organizing and summarizing medical records. Prepare, calculate, and maintain damage summaries including medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage. Will be preparing and forwarding demand packages to insurance carriers and defense counsel. Communicate and correspond with clients regarding case status and details. Coordinate disclosures and discovery responses. Reviews all documents and makes initial determination regarding information that is privileged or that otherwise requires redaction, and draft privilege logs. Assists with preparation of court filings. Ensures all deadlines are calendared and met. Drafts court filings under attorney supervision, such as routine motions, disclosures, subpoenas, notices, scheduling orders, and pretrial orders. Assists with preparation for depositions and trials. Prepares for witness interviews and depositions. Coordinates with vendors. Assists attorneys in all phases of trial preparation (e.g., prepares exhibits, coordinates witnesses, creates demonstrative exhibits, etc.). Prepare for disbursement and finalizing the case. Should have 3-5+ years of experience as a personal injury paralegal. Proficiency working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software applications is required. Must have proficiency with Adobe Acrobat. Should have experience with E-filing with Colorado courts and PACER. Must have working knowledge of Colorado State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and Practice Standards.
