Legal Counsel, Technology and Privacy
The candidate will assist with a range of privacy, data protection and security-related matters as well as draft and negotiate agreements with providers and partners in a wide variety of cutting-edge technology services and products. Will report directly to Legal Director - Technology and Privacy and provide support to Associate General Counsel / VP-Legal. Handle technology agreements, such as SaaS, on-premises software and hardware license and purchase agreements, managed services and technology support agreements, telecommunications agreements, and other related agreements; as well as a wide array of commercial agreements for education services and publishing clients. Another key part of the role involves advising the Company on privacy, data protection and security related matters, drafting and negotiating DPAs and related documentation for company's various business units, and staying current on privacy law with the ability to translate laws and regulations into pragmatic forms, policies and procedures that enable business objectives. Advise clients regarding contractual rights and duties, matters of contract interpretation, and pre-litigation dispute resolution.
