Associate Corporate Counsel
The candidate will provide legal and strategic business advice and support across a broad spectrum of internal functions. Review, draft and negotiate agreements with customers and vendors (including Terms of Service, services agreements, collaboration agreements, integration agreements, and SaaS agreements). Help advise on data privacy and security, including student privacy, security policies, and other related policies. In particular, you will become an expert on student and children privacy, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, and various state laws. Help maintain company compliance with day-to-day issues. Be a key leader of the Legal team’s efforts in the preparation, implementation and refinement of forms, processes and procedures as we scale. Should have 2-5 years of experience in a law firm and/or technology company. Must have J.D. from a well-regarded law school with admittance to at least one state bar. Must be knowledgeable about technology and software development. Privacy and security experience will be helpful. Should have experience collaborating with and influencing senior leadership.
