Job Overview
A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its private equity group in Chicago, IL. Duties
- Assist in the formation and structuring of private equity and mezzanine debt funds.
- Conduct legal research and draft transactional documents for fund formation matters.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex corporate transactions and due diligence.
Requirements
- Minimum of four years of broad corporate legal experience.
- At least second chair experience in mezzanine debt or private equity matters.
- Active admission to the state bar of the office location.
Education
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- State bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
Skills
- Strong understanding of private equity fund structures and mezzanine debt instruments.
- Experience with SBIC funds is preferred but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
