A law firm seeks a mid- to senior-level associate attorney to join its Private Client practice in New York, NY. This role involves working on complex estate planning, elder law, estate and trust administration, estate litigation, and transfer tax matters for a diverse clientele, including individuals, families, fiduciaries, non-profit organizations, and closely held businesses.

Duties

• Collaborate with attorneys across offices to deliver exceptional client service.
• Engage in sophisticated estate planning and transfer tax planning for high-net-worth individuals.
• Manage trust and estate administration, including probate proceedings and tax returns.
• Contribute to a team-oriented practice with a focus on client service.

Requirements

• Four or more years of experience in estate planning, with a focus on transfer tax planning.
• Familiarity with trust and estate administration and related legal proceedings.
• Ability to produce high-quality work independently.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills.
• Admission to the New York bar or eligibility to waive in promptly.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the New York bar.

Skills

• Experience advising on elder law matters, including long-term care and Medicaid planning.
• Experience with trust and estate litigation.
• Licensed to practice in New Jersey is a plus.
